Animal Caretakers

Job Description

We are looking for passionate Animal Caregivers to provide daily care, feeding, and grooming for the animals in our facility. The ideal candidate will have a genuine love for animals, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate care for animals by ensuring they are fed, groomed, and comfortable.
• Communicate effectively with the veterinary staff about any health concerns.
• Keep the animal living quarters clean and hygienic.
• Document all animal care tasks accurately in logs.
• Assist in training of new staff in animal care protocols.
• Engage with the public to promote animal adoption and responsible pet ownership.
• Facilitate enrichment activities to improve the well-being of the animals.
• Support the veterinary team during examinations and treatments.

Requirements

Education

• Certification in veterinary assisting or related field is a plus

Experience

• Minimum 1 year of experience in animal care highly preferred

Technical Skills

• Ability to recognize and respond to animal behavior cues
• Knowledge of animal welfare principles and practices

Soft Skills

• Teamwork
• Problem-solving

Certifications

• Animal CPR/First Aid certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience in volunteer management: Ability to supervise and mentor volunteers assisting in animal care.
• Strong customer service skills: Experience in interacting with the public and adopting families.
