Ophthalmic Laboratory Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Ophthalmic Laboratory Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will design and manufacture contact lens blockers with precision, ensuring quality standards are met while collaborating with fellow technicians.

Responsibilities

• Block contact lenses using appropriate materials effectively.
• Inspect equipment before production runs to ensure it meets quality requirements.
• Participate in team meetings to discuss production schedules and updates.
• Contribute ideas for improving manufacturing processes.
• Provide feedback on equipment and process inefficiencies to management.
• Participate in training programs for current and new techniques.
• Collaborate with optical lab technicians to improve product workflows.
• Ensure that all safety and quality standards are upheld throughout the production process.

Requirements

Education

• Vocational training in Optical Sciences or related field

Experience

• Previous experience in optical manufacturing is a plus

• Lens Surfacing and Finishing Knowledge
• Computer Skills

Soft Skills

• Problem-Solving Skills
• Effective Communication

Certifications

• Certification in Optical Lab Technology (preferred)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Knowledge of Optical Principles: Understanding of optical principles and lens design is beneficial.
• Experience with Maintenance Software: Familiarity with equipment maintenance software is a plus.
