Self-Enrichment Teacher (Sailing Instructor)

Job Description

The Sailing Instructor will be responsible for teaching individuals and groups of all ages and skill levels how to sail. Knowledgeable in various sailing techniques and safety guidelines, the instructor must be comfortable navigating watercraft.

Responsibilities

• Create tailored lesson plans based on student needs and skill levels.
• Teach safety protocols for water activities and equipment management.
• Lead group lessons and private sessions effectively.
• Supervise students during practical sailing sessions to ensure safety.
• Coordinate with staff on event logistics and curriculum development.
• Conduct regular maintenance checks on sailing equipment.
• Encourage students to develop their sailing skills and confidence.
• Evaluate and report on student performance and progress.
• Provide guidance and support to students of varying ages and backgrounds.
• Work collaboratively with other instructors to enhance program offerings.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Education or related field (optional)

Experience

• Minimum of 1 year of experience teaching sailing lessons.

Certifications

• US Sailing Level 1 Instructor Certification

Languages
