Ladle Crane Operator

Job Description

As a Ladle Crane Operator at Steel Dynamics LLC, you will operate an overhead crane to safely manage the transfer of molten metal within our manufacturing facility. Your role is critical for ensuring operational efficiency and maintaining safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate overhead cranes to handle ladles of molten steel, maintaining a high degree of precision.
• Inspect crane equipment regularly and perform preventive maintenance as necessary.
• Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure the efficient transfer of materials.
• Ensure compliance with all safety guidelines to protect personnel and equipment.
• Maintain accurate records of operations conducted during shifts.

Requirements

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Certification in heavy machinery operation is preferred

Experience

• At least 2 years in a related role with solid experience in crane operations.

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Forklift Operation Experience: Knowledge and experience in forklift operation as it's often needed in conjunction with crane operation.
