Experimental Rocketsled Mechanic

Job Description

We seek an experienced Experimental Rocketsled Mechanic to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will engage in the complete lifecycle of rocketsled prototypes, from assembly and maintenance to performance evaluations and improvements.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections and repairs on all rocketsled systems.
• Assist in developing innovative solutions for design challenges.
• Help track project milestones and report progress to the engineering team.
• Play an active role in the safety checks and compliance assessments for all rocketsled systems.
• Utilize CAD software to create and modify component designs as needed.
• Work with testing teams to evaluate rocketsled performance under various conditions.
• Ensure all modifications are documented in accordance with aerospace standards.
• Engage with team members to enhance collaborative problem-solving methods.
• Adhere to strict safety guidelines and industry regulations in all tasks.
• Identify training needs and participate in training initiatives for junior technicians.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering or related field preferred

Experience

• Prior experience in a similar role within an aerospace or experimental engineering environment.

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of rocketsled systems, including propulsion and control
• Familiarity with safety protocols and procedures

Soft Skills

• Problem-solving mindset

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in rocketsled control systems: Ability to code and troubleshoot software related to rocketsled functionality.
• Knowledge of composite materials and fabrication techniques: Understanding of materials used in high-performance engineering applications.
