Job Description

We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Referral Coordinator to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will manage patient referrals, coordinate appointments, and ensure that the referral process runs smoothly. This role is essential in bridging communication between patients and healthcare providers.

Responsibilities

  • Efficiently manage all aspects of patient referral processes, ensuring communication between all parties involved.
  • Schedule and coordinate patient appointments with healthcare providers and specialists.
  • Provide clear and comprehensive information to patients about the referral process.
  • Verify insurance coverage and secure prior authorizations for referrals.
  • Document and track referral activities using the electronic medical records system.
  • Work in collaboration with the billing team to ensure accurate billing practices.
  • Proactively monitor referral statuses and address any resulting issues swiftly.
  • Deliver outstanding customer support, addressing patient inquiries with empathy.
  • Regularly review and update referral processes to improve efficiency.
  • Contribute to team discussions and training focused on best practices in healthcare referrals.

Requirements

Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate's degree in healthcare administration preferred
Experience
  • 3+ years of experience in healthcare administration, specifically in referral coordination.
