Job Description

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting classroom activities and assisting teachers in nurturing the development of students from preschool through secondary school. Your compassionate approach and dedication to learning will create a positive impact on students' educational journeys.

Responsibilities

• Support the implementation of daily lesson plans and instructional activities.
• Work collaboratively with teachers to differentiate instruction for a diverse student body.
• Help maintain a positive classroom environment conducive to learning.
• Engage with students during group activities and support their learning effectively.
• Assist with classroom management and behavior management strategies.
• Prepare and organize classroom materials and resources.
• Communicate with parents about student progress and challenges.
• Participate in training for educational best practices.
• Supervise students in non-classroom settings.

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Associate's degree in education or related field (preferred)
• Valid certification or license as a paraprofessional (if required by the state)

Experience

• Prior experience working with students in an educational or similar setting is desirable.

Technical Skills

• Microsoft Office Suite
• Education Management Systems

• Strong communication skills
• Patience and empathy
• Organizational skills

Advantageous

• Experience with students with special needs or disabilities: Prior experience working with inclusive classrooms is preferred.
• Bilingual proficiency: Ability to communicate in Spanish is a plus.
