As a Surveyor Chain Helper, you will assist surveyors in measuring and mapping land crucial for construction, mining, and other projects. Your role involves using equipment like chains, levels, and theodolites to measure distances and angles.
Responsibilities
Set up equipment for field surveys under the supervision of experienced surveyors.
Accurately measure distances, angles, and elevations.
Communicate effectively with the survey crew to ensure smooth operations.
Assist in documenting field data and maintaining accurate records.
Participate in site surveys and help interpret survey data as needed.
Requirements
Education
High school diploma or equivalent
Completed coursework in surveying is preferred
Experience
Although no experience is necessary, any relevant experience in construction or land surveying is advantageous.
