Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Tax Accountant to join our team in Albuquerque, NM. In this role, you will handle various tax-related tasks, including preparation, compliance, and advising clients on tax strategies. The ideal candidate is someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a strong understanding of tax regulations.

Responsibilities

• Compile and maintain records of tax-related documents.
• Provide expert advice regarding state and federal tax codes.
• Calculate tax for payments, estimates, and penalties when necessary.
• Support forecasting and budgeting by providing tax implications.
• Prepare and submit appeals on behalf of clients.
• Mentor junior accounting staff on tax-related topics.
• Assist in preparing quarterly and annual tax returns.
• Stay informed on industry trends and new tools to enhance tax reporting efficiency.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Finance or Economics
• Master's degree is a plus

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in tax consulting or preparation
