Animal Caretaker

Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Animal Caretaker responsible for providing daily care to animals in our shelter. This role includes feeding, grooming, administering medication, and monitoring the well-being of our animals. Responsibilities

• Assist in the rehabilitation of the animals and prepare them for adoption.
• Maintain supplies and equipment in the animal care area.
• Educate potential adopters about animal care and welfare.
• Work collaboratively with veterinarian staff for medical treatments.

Requirements

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Associate Degree in Animal Science preferred

Experience

• At least 1 year of experience in a veterinary clinic or animal care setting

Technical Skills

• Basic Veterinary Care Knowledge
• Record Keeping

• Teamwork
• Adaptability

Certifications

• Pet CPR and First Aid
• Certified Animal Welfare Administrator

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Spanish: Fluent

Advantageous

• Familiarity with animal behavior training techniques: Knowledge of techniques for training animals, improving their adoptability.
• Volunteer experience in animal shelters: Previous volunteer work in animal shelters or rescue organizations is highly regarded.
