Towboat Pilot

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Towboat Pilot to navigate and operate towboats or tugboats, proficiently transporting vessels, barges, or other watercraft across waterways. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in piloting and maneuvering vessels, combined with strong navigational skills.

Responsibilities

• Directly navigate and manage towboat operations for efficient transport.
• Stay updated on weather forecasts and adapt navigation plans as required.
• Communicate effectively with other maritime personnel ensuring coordination.
• Conduct thorough inspections and upkeeps of towing equipment.
• Enforce adherence to maritime laws and safety regulations.
• Assist with cargo management during loading and unloading processes.
• Encourage teamwork and collaboration among crew for effective operations.
• Document incidents and operational reports for company records.
• Participate in safety drills and training to enhance crew preparedness.

Requirements

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience

• At least 5 years of piloting experience preferred
