Sea Captain

Job Description

As a Sea Captain, you will be responsible for navigating vessels safely through various waters. Your expertise in navigation and leadership will ensure the security of the crew and cargo. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in maritime operations along with a focus on safety compliance.

Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee the safe operation of the vessel.
• Supervise crew members in daily operations and adherence to schedules.
• Ensure compliance with maritime laws and customs regulations.
• Communicate effectively with crew and shore-side management on operational matters.
• Conduct emergency drills and ensure crew preparedness.
• Develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders.
• Evaluate navigational hazards and take appropriate action to mitigate risks.
• Prepare and submit necessary operational reports.
• Participate in vessel maintenance and repairs as needed.
• Assist in cargo operations and the oversight of loading and unloading.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Maritime Studies or related field

Experience

• Extensive experience in operating large commercial vessels.

• Spanish: Conversational
