Job Description

As a Medical Assistant at Northwest Orthopedic Clinics, you will play a vital role in supporting orthopedic surgeons and enhancing the patient experience. Your responsibilities will include assisting with patient examinations, preparing patients for surgery, and ensuring that all medical equipment is sterile and ready for use. You will also engage in routine patient assessments and help coordinate patient care with our multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

  • Support orthopedic surgeons during surgical procedures.
  • Prepare patients for procedures by explaining protocols and answering questions.
  • Conduct routine patient assessments, documenting vital signs accurately.
  • Assist in the setup and maintenance of surgical equipment.
  • Provide care and monitoring for post-operative patients.
  • Organize patient appointments and manage medical record documentation.
  • Collaborate closely with nursing and healthcare teams for optimal care.
  • Keep current with orthopedic best practices and innovations.
  • Follow strict hygiene and safety practices to prevent infections.
  • Educate patients on managing their orthopedic conditions and recovery plans.

Requirements

Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program
Experience
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting, with preference for orthopedic care.
Technical Skills
  • Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems
