Job Description

As a Special Education Teacher for preschool-aged children, you will play a critical role in supporting children with disabilities or developmental delays. You will develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) to facilitate their growth and learning in a nurturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and document children's progress against IEP goals.
  • Collaborate with speech and occupational therapists for integrated support.
  • Organize parent-teacher conferences to discuss student progress.
  • Implement behavioral interventions to support students' emotional regulation.
  • Work with school administration to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to support staff.
  • Engage in cultural competency training to better serve diverse populations.
  • Participate in creating inclusive instructional environments.
  • Advocate for children's access to appropriate resources and support services.
  • Develop community relationships to support student learning outside the classroom.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Special Education, or related field
  • Master's degree in Special Education is preferred
Experience
  • 3+ years of experience in early intervention or special education
