Job Description

As a Water and Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator, you will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of treatment facilities. Your role is crucial to ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations while monitoring and testing water quality.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the collection of water samples for testing.
• Maintain equipment calibration and performance.
• Ensure that all safety measures and regulations are followed.
• Document and report any issues with equipment or processes.
• Assist in the training and development of junior staff.
• Develop maintenance schedules for equipment.
• Communicate effectively with external stakeholders.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in environmental science, chemistry, or related field

Experience

• 3-5 years of experience in wastewater treatment operation

Technical Skills

• Experience with advanced wastewater treatment processes (e.g., membrane filtration, UV disinfection)
• Familiarity with wastewater treatment control software (e.g., SCADA)

Soft Skills

• Analytical thinking
• Team collaboration

Certifications

• Wastewater Treatment Operator Certification (Grade II or higher preferred)

Languages

• English: Fluent
