Metallurgical Lab Technician

Job Description

We are currently looking for a detail-oriented Metallurgical Lab Technician. In this role, you'll perform metallurgical testing on metal samples, interpret and report findings, and collaborate closely with our engineering team to support ongoing projects while ensuring laboratory equipment is operated safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Conduct metallurgical testing and quality control on various alloys.
• Document and report findings accurately to senior engineers.
• Utilize advanced metallurgical analysis software for data interpretation.
• Participate in development and validation of new testing methods.
• Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations in lab practices.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field
• Certifications in related fields are a plus

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a metallurgical lab setting.

Advantageous

• Experience with failure analysis and root cause investigations: Proficient in failure analysis methods and root cause investigations to improve material performance.
• Knowledge of metallography and heat treatment processes: Understanding of metallography techniques and heat treatment processes in metallurgy.
• Experience with scanning electron microscopy (SEM): Hands-on experience with SEM and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS).
