Locomotive Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Locomotive Engineer who can efficiently handle locomotive operations, ensuring timely and safe transport of goods across various destinations.

Responsibilities

• Operate and navigate locomotives for safe cargo transport.
• Conduct thorough inspections of locomotives before and after each trip.
• Maintain accurate logs of operations and communications with the control center.
• Assist in diagnosing mechanical issues with locomotives as necessary.
• Ensure compliance with federal safety regulations during all operations.
• Collaborate with internal teams to enhance operational efficiency.
• Participate in safety meetings and contribute to team discussions.
• Assist in the implementation of new rail technologies.
• Maintain awareness of potential hazards on routes.
• Promote a positive safety culture among crew members.

Requirements

Education

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Additional certifications in transportation management are a plus

Experience

• 3+ years of relevant experience as a Locomotive Engineer or in a similar role

Technical Skills

• Proficient in operational software
• Ability to perform mechanical repairs

Certifications

• Advanced Locomotive Engineer Certification
• Safety Compliance Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent
