Farmworker - Sheepherder

Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Farmworker, specifically a Sheepherder, to help care for our flock and contribute to the daily operations of our family ranch. Candidates should have a passion for animal husbandry and a willingness to work outdoors in variable weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Manage health routines for the sheep, including vaccinations and treatments.
• Coordinate movements of the flock to new grazing areas.
• Ensure compliance with animal welfare standards.
• Assist in breeding programs and monitor pregnancy.
• Conduct inspections of fencing and maintain boundary lines.
• Help with training and handling sheep dogs as needed.
• Participate in community outreach and educational programs related to sustainable farming.
• Document all daily operations and assist in administrative tasks.

Requirements

Education

• Agriculture or Animal Science degree is a plus

Experience

• 2+ years of experience in sheep farming or livestock care

Technical Skills

• Livestock Management
• Wool Shearing

Languages

• English: Fluent
