Phlebotomy Services Representative

Job Description

We are on the lookout for a highly skilled and customer-oriented Phlebotomy Services Representative to join our healthcare team. The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for performing blood draws, ensuring patient comfort and safety during the process, and maintaining accurate records.

Responsibilities

• Execute venipunctures and collect blood specimens, ensuring all procedures are performed safely and efficiently
• Label, process, and oversee the preparation of specimens for laboratory testing
• Maintain a clean and compliant work environment according to health regulations
• Document patient interactions and test results accurately and in a timely manner
• Communicate effectively with patients, demonstrating compassion and professionalism
• Assist with inventory management and ordering of phlebotomy supplies
• Participate in training sessions and continuously improve skill sets in phlebotomy techniques
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory guidelines

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an accredited phlebotomy training program

Experience

• Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Infection control protocols

Soft Skills

• Calmness under pressure
• Strong problem-solving skills

Certifications

• Phlebotomy certification (e.g., ASCP, NHA)
• Valid CPR certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Knowledge of advanced phlebotomy techniques: Experience in managing difficult venipuncture and arterial puncture.
• Experience with laboratory information systems: Familiarity with software used for recording and tracking specimens.
