Job Description

The Medical Assistant plays a vital role in supporting orthopedic surgeons and healthcare professionals. Your responsibilities will include assisting in patient evaluations, preparing surgical instruments, and providing post-operative care. The ideal candidate should be knowledgeable about medical terminology as well as orthopedic procedures, and possess strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients.

Responsibilities

  • Support orthopedic surgeons during patient procedures.
  • Conduct patient assessments, including vital sign measurements.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and readiness of operating rooms and equipment.
  • Facilitate patient education regarding treatment plans and recovery processes.
  • Assist in managing and organizing patient schedules.
  • Keep detailed records of patient interactions and treatments.
  • Collaborate with nursing staff to deliver coordinated patient care.
  • Participate in team meetings to discuss patient care strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols in all aspects of patient care.
  • Provide compassionate care to patients undergoing treatment.

Requirements

Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant is preferred
Experience
  • Experience in a similar role within a clinical environment is an asset.
Technical Skills
  • Knowledge of medical billing and coding
