Join us as a Purchasing Agent specializing in the seafood sector. Your role will involve evaluating suppliers, managing purchase orders, and ensuring the delivery of top-notch products to our customers.

Responsibilities

• Manage supplier relationships to ensure a balanced supply chain.
• Assess the quality and freshness of all products before purchasing.
• Negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure pricing and terms.
• Develop purchasing strategies to optimize costs and quality.
• Provide leadership in compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Collaborate with the sales team to align product offerings with customer needs.
• Implement tracking systems to monitor inventory levels and supplier deliveries.
• Assist in training new staff on procurement processes and standards.
• Prepare reports on procurement metrics and supplier performance.
• Research and stay updated on industry trends to inform purchasing decisions.

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or Food Science preferred

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in food procurement or a similar role
