Outpatient Occupational Therapist (Outpatient OT)

Job Description

As an Outpatient Occupational Therapist (Outpatient OT), you will be responsible for evaluating, planning, and implementing individualized rehabilitation programs for patients requiring post-hospitalization outpatient care. You'll work with patients of all ages, aiding their recovery and enhancing their functional abilities.

Responsibilities

• Conduct initial assessments of patients and establish treatment goals.
• Use therapeutic techniques to help restore daily living skills.
• Monitor and document outcomes and progress in treatment.
• Engage patients in therapeutic activities to promote recovery.
• Educate staff and families about patient progress and treatment plans.
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including physical therapists and speech therapists.
• Provide crisis intervention as needed for patients in psychological distress.
• Review and adapt therapies based on patient responses.
• Train patients on the use of assistive devices.

Requirements

Education

• Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
• Certification in advanced techniques or modalities, such as lymphedema management or hand therapy is preferred.

Experience

• Experience working with patients in an outpatient setting preferred.
