As an Occupational Health and Safety Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with safety regulations and standards, developing risk mitigation strategies, and educating staff about patient safety protocols.
Responsibilities
Lead the development of a culture of safety within the organization.
Conduct regular safety audits and drills to prepare for emergencies.
Collect and analyze data to identify areas for improvement in safety practices.
Facilitate training workshops and seminars for staff development.
Collaborate with external agencies and organizations on safety initiatives.
Create educational materials for staff and patients regarding safety.
Monitor compliance with healthcare regulations and accreditation standards.
Assist in the development of action plans based on safety assessments.
Participate in safety committee meetings and contribute to strategic planning.
Draft and present safety reports to upper management.
Requirements
Education
Master's degree in Healthcare Administration or related field
Certification in Quality Improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean Six Sigma)
Experience
5+ years of experience in leading patient safety initiatives.
