Cloth Sander

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Cloth Sander to join our production team. This role involves ensuring that textiles are prepared to perfection for further manufacturing processes, contributing significantly to the overall product quality.

Responsibilities

• Operate power tools and other sanding equipment to smooth the surfaces of cloth.
• Examine the cloth to identify imperfections or rough spots that need to be sanded.
• Maintain and clean sanding equipment, ensuring that it is in good working condition.
• Communicate with supervisors and colleagues to ensure that deadlines are met and quality standards are maintained.
• Measure and cut cloth as needed to prepare it for sanding.
• Record and maintain accurate logs and records of work completed.
• Follow all safety procedures and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
• Contribute to team efforts to improve efficiency and productivity.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors or management.

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent

Experience

• 1-2 years of experience in sanding or related work

Technical Skills

• Attention to detail
• Good hand-eye coordination
• Knowledge of textile manufacturing processes

Soft Skills

• Strong problem-solving skills
• Good communication skills

Advantageous

• Experience with specific types of sanding equipment: Hands-on experience with machines like belt sanders and orbital sanders.
• Experience with quality control processes: Familiar with inspection and quality assurance techniques in manufacturing.
