Job Description

As a Rail Car Repairer (Breaker Mechanic), you will perform vital maintenance and repairs on breaker equipment involved in rail car operations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in mechanical systems, ensuring all equipment operates safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose equipment failures and determine appropriate repair methods.
  • Execute repairs on-site and test equipment post-repair for functionality.
  • Maintain organized work area and proper inventory of tools.
  • Train and mentor junior mechanics on best practices.
  • Assist with the installation of new equipment as required.
  • Adhere strictly to company safety policies.

Requirements

Education
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Technical certification in related field is a plus
Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in heavy equipment maintenance and repair
