Job Description

We are thrilled to announce an opening for a Tornado Chaser. In this role, you'll monitor and document severe weather events, contributing to vital research efforts. Ideal candidates will demonstrate expertise in meteorology and strong problem-solving skills under pressure.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor weather conditions to identify potential tornado occurrences.
  • Plan and execute storm-chasing expeditions to track and document tornadoes.
  • Collect meteorological data, including wind speed, temperature, and atmospheric pressure, using specialized equipment.
  • Analyze weather patterns and data to predict tornado formation and behavior.
  • Document tornado activity through video, photography, and written reports.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols during storm-chasing operations.
  • Collaborate with meteorologists and researchers to contribute to tornado research projects.
  • Present findings and insights to scientific communities and the public through presentations and media interviews.
  • Maintain and operate storm-chasing vehicles and equipment.
