Job Description

As a Probation Officer and Correctional Treatment Specialist, you will play a crucial role in supervising offenders on probation, ensuring compliance with judicial conditions, and facilitating rehabilitation programs. The ideal candidate will be committed to public safety and possess strong communication skills to engage effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor compliance of probationers with judicial conditions.
  • Conduct regular assessments and evaluations of individual progress.
  • Coordinate with treatment providers to facilitate rehabilitation programs.
  • Offer guidance and support to offenders to aid in their reintegration into society.
  • Document all interactions and report on probationers' progress.
  • Exercise sound judgment in crisis situations.
  • Engage with community resources to support offenders.
  • Implement strategies for conflict resolution and behavior modification.
  • Participate in training on criminal justice policies and rehabilitation techniques.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation as required.

Requirements

Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of a correctional officer training program preferred
Experience
  • Previous experience in a correctional or law enforcement role preferred
