Job Description

As an Academic Advisor, you will play a crucial role in guiding students through their academic journey. Your responsibilities will focus on providing personalized academic and career advice, helping students select courses, and ensuring they understand their educational options. You will collaborate with faculty, staff, and students to promote academic success and enhance overall student experience.

Responsibilities

• Guide students in understanding financial aid options and resources available to them.
• Participate in recruitment and retention efforts to support student enrollment.
• Serve as a liaison between students and university services such as counseling and tutoring.
• Evaluate and update academic advising policies and practices to enhance service delivery.
• Participate in professional development workshops to stay current on advising best practices.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Counseling, Education, or a related field
• Master's degree in Educational Leadership or higher education preferred

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in academic advising or counseling roles

Certifications

• Accredited Academic Advising Certification
• Certified Student Development Specialist (CSDS)
