Job Description

As a Library Specialist, you will manage library services and resources, support library users, and oversee daily operations. This role demands strong communication and organizational skills as you assist patrons in navigating library resources.

Responsibilities

  • Assist patrons with locating and checking out books, audiobooks, DVDs, and other materials.
  • Provide instruction on the use of library technology, including databases, e-books, and online resources.
  • Conduct research on behalf of patrons and assist them in locating relevant materials.
  • Ensure a welcoming and inclusive environment for all library users.
  • Maintain accurate records of library materials and patron accounts.
  • Assist with collection development and management based on community needs.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field
  • Master's degree is preferred
Experience
  • Experience with library management systems and online resources.

Certifications
  • Professional certification from the ALA desirable
Languages
