Job Description

We are actively seeking an Underwriter to join our Miami team. The ideal candidate will assess risk and determine the appropriate insurance coverage for clients. This role involves collaborating with agents and clients to ensure the best insurance solutions are provided.

Responsibilities

• Analyze market trends to inform pricing strategies.
• Interface with the claims department to evaluate ongoing risks.
• Provide training and support to junior underwriters.
• Stay updated on industry regulations and compliance.
• Prepare reports on underwriting performance and trends.
• Participate in team meetings to discuss policies and strategies.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field
• Master's degree in Finance or Risk Management is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in underwriting roles

Technical Skills

• Underwriting Software Proficiency
• Regulatory Compliance Knowledge

Soft Skills

• Negotiation Skills
• Analytical Skills

Certifications

• Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC)
• Risk Management and Insurance Certification (RMIC)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience in property and casualty underwriting: Hands-on experience in underwriting property and casualty insurance.
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills: Ability to work with numbers and data effectively for underwriting decisions.
