As a Special Education Teacher for Visually Impaired Students, you will be the bridge for young learners facing visual challenges. Your role involves creating personalized lesson plans, adapting teaching methods, and ensuring an inclusive environment where every student thrives. You'll work collaboratively with parents and multidisciplinary teams to address individual needs effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure classroom and instructional materials are accessible and appropriate for visually impaired students.
  • Develop and adapt teaching strategies to address individual student learning styles.
  • Engage in professional development activities to enhance teaching skills.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to coordinate student support.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to paraprofessionals assisting in the classroom.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field
  • Valid teaching license/certification
  • Specialized training in teaching visually impaired students
Experience
  • At least 2 years of experience in teaching or supporting visually impaired students.
Technical Skills
  • Knowledge of Braille and tactile teaching methods
  • Proficiency in assistive technology
