Prop Worker

Job Description

As a Prop Worker, you will play a vital role in the creation, maintenance, and management of props used in various productions. This includes working closely with prop designers, assisting in sourcing materials, and ensuring props are integrated seamlessly into performances.

Responsibilities

• Support the prop design process by collaborating with the production team.
• Build and modify props according to director and designer specifications.
• Conduct inventory checks of props and manage their storage.
• Participate in sourcing materials and supplies for prop creation.
• Document any repairs or modifications made to props.
• Assist during filming or performances to ensure prop functionality.
• Work closely with other departments to align on prop usage.
• Set up and strike props before and after performances.
• Assist in training new team members in prop management.
• Contribute to maintaining a safe and efficient working environment.

Requirements

Education

• Portfolio or evidence of previous prop work is preferred

Experience

• Experience in prop management and organization is advantageous

Technical Skills

• Painting techniques
• Foam sculpting

Soft Skills

• Problem-solving
• Communication

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience in prop management: Demonstrated experience in organizing and managing props for productions.
• Knowledge of adhesives and fasteners: Familiarity with various adhesives and fasteners used in prop construction.
