Job Description

As a Judicial Law Clerk, you will provide essential support to the court by conducting thorough legal research, drafting documents, and assisting judges in case preparations. This role is pivotal as you navigate complex legal matters while collaborating with attorneys and court staff.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough legal research to assist in case preparation.
  • Draft and edit legal documents, including motions and briefs.
  • Organize case files and maintain effective document management.
  • Support courtroom activities by coordinating schedules and preparing materials.
  • Communicate effectively with various court personnel and external parties.
  • Enhance procedural compliance with court regulations.
  • Monitor legislative changes impacting legal practice and case law.
  • Assist in creating trial plans and materials for jury selection.
  • Ensure confidentiality of legal matters and respect for client privacy.
  • Undertake additional tasks as needed to support the legal team.

Requirements

Education
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
  • Admission to the state bar in California is advantageous
Experience
  • Previous law clerk or legal assistant experience preferred but not required
