Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Occupational Health and Safety Specialist to oversee the safety standards in our laboratory environments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing safety protocols to minimize risk and ensure compliance with health regulations.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement laboratory safety protocols and policies.
• Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential hazards.
• Oversee compliance with all pertinent safety regulations.
• Deliver safety training programs for laboratory staff and students.
• Examine incidents and suggest modifications to prevent future occurrences.
• Document all safety inspections and safety-related incidents meticulously.
• Handle the necessary procurement and disposal of hazardous substances.
• Remain informed about the latest regulations and best practices in safety.
• Work closely with laboratory leadership to ensure safety is prioritized.
• Champion a culture of safety awareness and compliance across the organization.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's in Environmental Science or related field
• Master's degree preferred

Experience

• 5 years of experience in laboratory safety management
