Job Description

As a Chief Lock Tender Operator, you will oversee the operation of locks, ensuring the safe passage of vessels through waterways. This role involves managing a team of lock tenders, maintaining lock equipment, and monitoring environmental conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Direct the operation of locks, ensuring smooth vessel transitions through waterways.
  • Lead a team of lock operators, fostering a culture of safety and efficiency.
  • Inspect and maintain all lock infrastructure and equipment.
  • Adjust operations based on real-time water levels and environmental changes.
  • Provide clear instructions to boat crews for safe lock navigation.
  • Document and report any operational issues or maintenance needs.
