Job Description

Join our dynamic team as an Orderly, where you'll assist surgeons and nurses in creating a clean and safe surgical environment. Your tasks will range from preparing operating rooms to transporting patients and disposing of surgical waste. This position is vital to ensure that procedures run smoothly and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating rooms before surgeries, ensuring cleanliness and availability of necessary equipment and supplies.
• Assist in positioning and transferring patients onto surgical tables safely.
• Handle instruments and supplies for surgeons and other medical professionals during procedures.
• Manage the disposal of surgical waste and contaminated materials in compliance with safety protocols.
• Clean and sterilize surgical equipment and ensure proper storage at the end of each shift.
• Maintain an accurate inventory of surgical supplies and request restocking as needed.
• Transport patients to and from the operating room and assist them in preoperative and postoperative care.
• Follow strict protocols for infection control to maintain a sterile environment.
• Document and maintain records of surgical procedures and patient information as required.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure efficient workflow during operations.

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Certification as a Surgical Technologist is preferred

Experience

• Previous experience in a healthcare or surgical setting preferred, ideally 1+ years
