Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Deputy Prosecuting Attorney to join our legal team in Chicago. The successful candidate will represent the state in criminal cases, conduct legal research, and collaborate with law enforcement agencies to bring justice to the community.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and present criminal cases effectively in court.
  • Interview witnesses and review evidence thoroughly.
  • Provide timely legal advice to law enforcement.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with community organizations.
  • Participate in plea negotiations and case settlements.
  • Manage case files and ensure compliance with legal procedures.
  • Advocate for victims of crime through all legal avenues.
  • Research current laws and their implications on ongoing cases.
  • Attend legal workshops to enhance professional skills.
  • Participate in community outreach to promote legal knowledge.

Requirements

Education
  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
  • Licensed to practice law in Illinois
Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of criminal law experience required
