Special Education Teacher

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with exceptional needs. You will play a crucial role in creating an inclusive classroom environment while collaborating with a team of educators and support staff.

Responsibilities

• Design educational programs and curricula to meet diverse student needs.
• Implement and oversee individualized assessments to gauge student growth.
• Collaborate with local agencies and resources for additional student support.
• Identify and address any challenges students face in their educational journey.
• Facilitate workshops to educate staff on special education topics.
• Develop strong relationships with students to foster a positive learning environment.
• Conduct regular meetings with parents to discuss student progress and feedback.
• Utilize technology and assistive devices to enhance learning opportunities.
• Work with other educators to promote inclusive education strategies.
• Plan and participate in community outreach programs related to special education.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Education with Special Education emphasis
• Master's degree in Education is a plus

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in special education settings

Technical Skills

• Behavioral Intervention Plans
• Data Collection Methods

Soft Skills

• Empathy
• Organizational Skills

Certifications

• Board Certified Behavior Analyst (if applicable)
• Crisis Prevention Intervention Certification (preferred)

Languages

• English: Fluent
