As a Sewing Machine Operator at Creative Effects Studios, you'll play a crucial role in bringing our most thrilling horror and special effects visions to life. This position involves creating hyper-realistic gore effects, from fabric manipulation to sewing intricate designs that captivate audiences. You’ll collaborate with our talented special effects team to build unforgettable, and often heart-stopping, experiences for film and television.

Responsibilities

• Sew and assemble props for gore sequences in film and television.
• Partner with special effects artists to develop new techniques and effects.
• Conduct thorough testing of effects to ensure realism and safety.
• Document procedures for creating specific gore effects.
• Participate in team meetings to share ideas and provide feedback on projects.
• Collaborate with makeup artists to ensure cohesive visual effects.
• Provide guidance to interns or junior staff as needed.
• Research and implement innovative approaches to special effects.
• Adhere to strict timelines and adjust workflows as necessary.
• Create backups of props and materials to prevent any production delays.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Theatrical Design or a related field
• Professional training in special effects makeup is a plus

Experience

• Minimum 2 years of experience in special effects with a focus on gore effects.
