Job Description

As a Dressage Judge, you will play a critical role in evaluating and scoring horse and rider performances in dressage competitions. This position requires a high degree of expertise in dressage standards and practices, along with the ability to provide constructive feedback to help riders improve their skills. You will be part of a team of experienced judges collaborating to ensure the fair and unbiased evaluation of performances.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and score performances based on precision, harmony, and overall quality.
  • Engage with participants and provide clear feedback for developmental purposes.
  • Work collaboratively with event organizers and other judges.
  • Document performance evaluations thoroughly for record-keeping.
  • Participate in evaluations of new judging technologies and practices.
  • Conduct regular reviews of scoring methods to ensure fairness.
  • Mentor new judges in best practices and industry standards.
  • Monitor compliance with dressage standards and practices.
  • Coordinate with technical staff for scoring and reporting processes.
  • Facilitate discussions regarding performance discrepancies among judges.

Requirements

Education
  • Extensive experience as a dressage competitor or trainer
Experience
  • Minimum 5 years in the equestrian field with judging experience
