Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Air Brake Operator to ensure the safe operation of air brake systems in heavy-duty vehicles. Your role will involve regular maintenance and inspections, as well as adherence to strict safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Ensure adherence to established operational protocols for air brake systems.
• Oversee the implementation of safety procedures during operations.
• Conduct thorough inspections and testing of air brake systems before vehicle dispatch.
• Assist in emergency response efforts related to brake system failures.
• Collaborate with maintenance teams to evaluate and improve existing processes.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the maintenance area.
• Support the development and implementation of training programs for new hires.
• Actively participate in safety meetings and provide input on operational improvements.
• Engage in proactive communication with management regarding potential safety issues.
• Maintain an updated knowledge of regulatory changes affecting air brake operations.

Advantageous

• Experience in a similar role such as a commercial truck driver or vehicle mechanic: Relevant experience in vehicle operation or repair is beneficial.
• Experience with troubleshooting and repairing HVAC systems in vehicles: Additional experience in vehicle HVAC systems is a plus.
