Job Description

The Adoption Specialist will be responsible for facilitating and managing the adoption process for individuals interested in adopting children. They will work closely with prospective adoptive parents, social workers, and other stakeholders to ensure a smooth and successful adoption experience.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate family backgrounds and conduct home studies to assess readiness for adoption.
  • Develop individualized adoption plans that address the needs of both children and adoptive parents.
  • Provide emotional support and resources to families navigating the adoption process.
  • Facilitate communication between adoptive families and social service agencies.
  • Keep detailed and organized records of all interactions and documentation related to adoptions.
  • Educate families about the adoption process, including legal requirements and potential challenges.
  • Collaborate with community organizations to enhance adoption outreach and support services.
  • Monitor the well-being of children in adoptive placements and offer resources to families as needed.
  • Conduct workshops and seminars on adoption best practices and laws.
  • Build partnerships with agencies to streamline the adoption process.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work or Psychology
  • Master's degree in related field preferred
Experience
  • Experience working within diverse populations and with children in care
