Job Description

As a Psychiatric Aide, you will assist in the care and treatment of patients in a psychiatric setting. Your role involves monitoring patients' behaviors, helping with daily activities, and providing emotional support.

Responsibilities

  • Support nurses in delivering basic nursing care to patients.
  • Observe and document changes in patients' conditions.
  • Help facilitate therapeutic activities and safe living environments.
  • Escort patients to appointments and activities as needed.
  • Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure patient care.
  • Offer reassurance and support to patients experiencing difficulties.
  • Keep patient care areas clean and organized.
  • Adhere to healthcare safety regulations and protocols.
  • Participate in staff meetings and training sessions.
  • Engage patients in discussions to support their emotional well-being.

Requirements

Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Certification in Mental Health First Aid is a plus
Experience
  • Experience working in a mental health facility is a plus.
Technical Skills
  • Medication administration software

Certifications
  • Mental Health First Aid certification
Languages
  • Spanish: Conversational
