Join our team as a Correctional Officer, where you will play a vital role in overseeing the safety and wellbeing of female and juvenile suspects in custody. Your duties will include ensuring a secure environment while providing emotional support and assistance as needed.

Job Responsibilities
  • Assist juveniles and females during intake and throughout their stay.
  • Conduct regular security checks and maintain order within the facility.
  • Develop and maintain trusting relationships with individuals in custody.
  • Collaborate with mental health professionals to support emotional wellbeing.
  • Respond promptly and effectively to emergencies or altercations within the facility.
  • Compile reports on incidents and interactions with individuals under care.
  • Participate in community outreach initiatives to promote public safety awareness.
Job Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of a training program for Police Matrons is preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills Exceptional ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations.
  • Knowledge of law enforcement protocols Understanding of legal guidelines and procedures for handling suspects.
  • Empathy and sensitivity Ability to approach individuals with understanding and compassion.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities Strong decision-making skills in high-pressure situations.
  • Certification in First Aid and CPR
  • Completion of law enforcement training program
  • English (Fluent)
  • Spanish (Conversational)
Advantageous
  • Experience with crisis intervention: Ability to effectively manage stressful situations and assist individuals in distress.
  • Fluency in a second language (preferably Spanish): Bilingual skills enhance communication with diverse populations.
