Insurance Underwriter

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Insurance Underwriter to assess risk and determine coverage terms for our clients in San Francisco. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of underwriting principles and the ability to analyze data effectively.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate the risk and acceptability of insurance applications based on specific guidelines.
• Provide guidance to staff in relation to underwriting procedures.
• Collaborate with the claims department to analyze past claims for risk assessment.
• Assist in training junior underwriters and provide mentorship.
• Ensure all underwriting documentation is complete and compliant with legal regulations.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with insurance brokers and agents.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Insurance or Risk Management
• Professional certification in insurance underwriting is preferred

Experience

• 3-5 years of insurance underwriting experience preferred
