Job Description

As a Forestry and Conservation Science Teacher, you will engage students in critical thinking and innovation within the forestry and environmental science fields. Your role involves developing curricula, conducting research, and mentoring the next generation of conservationists.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement innovative lectures that incorporate current research in forestry and conservation science.
  • Create and manage online resources and course materials to support diverse learning needs.
  • Conduct research and publish findings in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Provide guidance to students in their academic journey, including career advice and research supervision.
  • Develop partnerships with local organizations to enhance student learning through real-world experiences.
  • Facilitate workshops and training sessions for students and community members.
  • Engage in recruiting, advising, and mentoring new faculty.
  • Participate in educational outreach programs to inspire future forestry and conservation professionals.
  • Conduct assessments and evaluations of student performance and course effectiveness.
  • Contribute to university governance, policies, and departmental strategies.

Requirements

Education
  • PhD in Forestry, Environmental Science, or a closely related field
  • Strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals preferred
Experience
  • A minimum of 3 years teaching experience at the postsecondary level with a strong focus on research.
