Job Description

As an Offender Workforce Development Specialist (OWDS), you will play a crucial role in aiding offenders to develop job readiness skills and subsequently facilitate their reintegration into the community. This position requires collaboration with correctional facilities, local employers, and community organizations to provide comprehensive career counseling and support. Your expertise will help bridge the gap between incarceration and sustainable employment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead counseling sessions that focus on overcoming barriers to employment.
  • Develop and maintain a database of local job opportunities and training resources.
  • Work with multidisciplinary teams to provide holistic support to offenders.
  • Advocate for the needs of offenders within the community and correctional settings.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Counseling or Social Work
  • Master's degree is preferred
Experience
  • Experience working with at-risk populations is an advantage
