Family Support Worker

Job Description

Join our team as a Family Support Worker, where you'll be the cornerstone of support for families in need. You'll engage with families, address their needs through practical help with childcare and household tasks, and offer emotional encouragement so they can thrive.

Responsibilities

• Engage with families to understand their challenges and needs.
• Provide hands-on assistance in childcare and household management.
• Document family interactions and track progress.
• Coordinate with community resources for additional services.
• Facilitate workshops or support groups for families.
• Maintain a positive, respectful, and empathetic interaction with families.
• Report on family progress to the Director of Family Services.
• Assist with behavioral and emotional support for children.
• Stay updated on family welfare policies and best practices.
• Support fundraising efforts and community outreach programs.

Requirements

Education

• Master's degree in social work or related field is preferred

Experience

• 3+ years of experience working with at-risk families

Technical Skills

• Crisis Intervention Techniques
• Behavioral Assessment

Soft Skills

• Conflict Resolution

Certifications

• Trauma-Informed Care Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with Child Development Programs: Knowledge of programs and techniques that support child growth and development.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English: Ability to communicate effectively with Spanish-speaking families.
