Dive Tender

Job Description

As a Dive Tender, you will provide essential support to divers during underwater operations, ensuring that all equipment is properly maintained and operational. Your role is crucial for the safety and efficiency of our diving projects.

Responsibilities

• Assist divers in preparing for dives and ensure their equipment configurations are correct.
• Monitor dive conditions and report any hazards to the diving supervisor.
• Manage equipment checks and maintenance schedules effectively.
• Provide underwater assistance as needed for various tasks.
• Coordinate communication between the diving team and surface support staff.
• Ensure that emergency protocols are established and practiced regularly.
• Help maintain a safe and organized diving work environment.
• Participate in safety audits and feedback sessions to improve operations.
• Contribute to the development of best practices in diving operations.

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Certification as a recreational diver (minimum Open Water Diver or equivalent)

Experience

• Preferably 1-3 years of diving experience.

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of marine safety protocols
• Experience with underwater photography or videography

Soft Skills

• Problem-solving skills
• Flexibility and adaptability

Certifications

• Rescue Diver Certification
• Commercial Diving Certification (preferred)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Leadership experience: Previous experience in a supervisory capacity within diving operations.
• Boat operations knowledge: Familiarity with operating and maintaining dive boats.
