Pharmacist

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Pharmacist to join our pharmacy team in San Antonio, TX. In this role, you will be responsible for dispensing medications, providing patient consultations, and ensuring compliance with pharmacy regulations. The ideal candidate should have a passion for patient care and a commitment to improving health outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Review prescriptions for accuracy and legality.
• Educate patients regarding their medications and health conditions.
• Coordinate with healthcare providers for comprehensive patient care.
• Supervise the preparation and dispensing of pharmaceuticals.
• Implement clinical pathways and protocols for medication use.
• Maintain proper records of controlled substances.
• Facilitate patient referrals for additional health services.
• Participate in training programs for pharmacy staff.

Requirements

Education

• Pharm.D. with a focus on clinical pharmacy
• Pharmacy residency or fellowship is a plus

Experience

• At least 3 years of pharmacy practice experience.

• Texas Pharmacy License
• Certified Consultant Pharmacist (CCP)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Prior experience in a community pharmacy setting: Experience working in a busy community pharmacy environment.
• Familiarity with MTM programs: Knowledge of Medicare Part D and medication therapy management programs.
